ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS
Paul Whitehead founded Major John in 2014 during his third year as an architecture student at the University of the Free State.
Major John's first products were a range of wooden bow ties made in Paul's parent’s garage, and sanded outside his residence between classes. His mother made the fabric straps and hand stitched each bow tie together. Since then the brand has grown to a range of genuine leather accessories, aprons.
We have also launched a range of furniture and lighting, including 3 floor lamps, 2 desk lamps, coffee tables, stools and wall ligting.
Our products are handcrafted from the best locally sourced leather and wood.
Major John combines the ideals of the Arts-and-Crafts movement with modern trends to create unique handcrafted products.
WE'D LIKE YOU TO KNOW...
Our product are manuftured In Cape Town and in Bloemfontein. We try and use local materials when it is available and try and use minimal imported components.
All our products are handmade and we handstitch our products to make our producs unique.
We can also make custom products to your design and we also do branding, which makes it perfect for corporate gifting.
MEET THE EXHIBITOR
When I say 'we', it is mostly I. My name is Paul Whitehead and I am the owner and only full time employee of Major John.
Don't fear, we can still help you with bigger orders as I am in production myself, but I also have factories and manufacturers that I have been working with for years, so we can accomodate any size orders.
