Bili Beadwear is an empowering beaded-accessories brand run by women in Cape Town. Every product is a representation of its creator, with beading patterns and colours holding deep significance in South African cultures. Bili is a celebration of the uniqueness of every woman beader, expressed through the wearer of each item.

Every range is designed with the imprint of South African art, fashion, craft and culture. In the intricate weaving process of hand-stitching each glass bead twice, Bili Beadwear’s beautiful offerings become time stamps of this careful, individual attention to every detail.

Women empowering women.

Our mission at Bili Beadwear is to empower mothers in townships with sustainable artisanal work that helps them support their children’s well-being and education. By investing in a Bili Beadwear product, one joins in our vision to reduce South Africa’s highly unequal social and economic divide.

Every piece in our collection has been intricately beaded by a woman in Wallacedene, an informal housing settlement located on the outskirts of Cape Town, where poverty is rife. The beading artist’s talent and individual creativity is embedded in the pieces that one wears as one's own statement of independant expression.
