ABOUT
Our angels are made from locally sourced ostrich feathers and merino wool, combined with fine knitted and crocheted wire, glass beads and other ornaments. In 2020 we introduce more coloured wire in some of our angels as well as dyed feathers - looking different, but still very much 100% Karoo Angels - delicate, elegant and sophisticated.
Initially our angels were meant as a seasonal product for Christmas, but we soon disovered that the product has an all year appeal. You will always need an angel! Our new ranges, Juweel and Guardian angels, are developed with this in mind. Karoo Angels have been successfully exporting to an increasing number of countries since 2006, showing that a product rooted and made in remote Karoo can have a global appeal.
MEET THE EXHIBITOR
Karoo Angels describe a range of beautifully handcrafted angels, made by Rietbron Craft and Vondeling Optel Craft, known as "The Angel Factory in the Karoo", both groups established in remote villages in the Baviaans area of the Karoo in Eastern Cape.
The angels have been in production since 2006, starting originally with only one angel. Since then the angel family has grown considerably, and at SARCDA Africa 2020 we present our Classic, Vleuel and Guardian Angel Range, comprising of almost 50 different designs in total, and we are very excited to also launch our expanded Juweel range, with a brand new earring range.
