Product Overview

uSisi Designs are producers of unique Jewellery made of Scoobie wire (Telephone wire). We are passionate about our African Craft Heritage. In production we use many antique weaving, platting and wrapping techniques to manufacture pieces that have a rich story to tell. These products are designed by Stella Pretorius and made by groups of women from rural and semi-urban area around Pietermaritzburg, in Kwa-Zulu Natal. We also work with two groups of women from the rural areas around Ladysmith and Port Shepstone.

In our search of combining old with new, we have found some fascinating and innovative antique and modern, wire work techniques from all over the world.  In our Spiral bracelets we have combined such techniques. These bracelets has been our best sellers for more than fifteen years and can be found in Germany, France, Austria, America, Australia and Japan among many countries.

In a bid to remain innovative and relevant, in the everchanging Fashion industry, we have introduced a line of products using sealed copperwire in both our fashion accesories and homeware.  We have added Crocheted copper wire hangings lights to the collection of Copper runners and woven decor items. We are constantly pushing the boundries in working with recycled materials, like Plastic bottlecaps. Currently, we are making decorative wall panels, covered in Bottlecaps and also small side stools and tables. We are also making hanging lights with melted  bottle caps. We are also making Wall hangings and Window decor from the melted bottle caps.
